ROYAL ENFIELD UNVEILS THE SHOTGUN 650: A CUSTOM-INSPIRED NEO-RETRO MOTORCYCLE

Royal Enfield unveils a one-of-a-kind roadster created after decades of inspiration from custom culture. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 makes its world premiere today at Motoverse 2023 in Goa.
The Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is a limited version, of only 25 vehicles that can be reserved until midnight on November 25th. There will be no other machines of this edition. Thus, this event is a unique opportunity to acquire this collector's item. The production motorcycle will be launched early next year.

Built on the Royal Enfield 650 twin platform, the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition pays homage to the culture of customizing. It was inspired by the SG650 Concept, which, with its neo-dystopian design, highlights the diversity that Royal Enfield offers to the creative minds of the motorcycle world.

Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd., on the market launch of the motorcycle:
"The Shotgun 650 is an impressive, custom-design-inspired motorcycle that blends Royal Enfield's motorcycle DNA with the rebellious spirit of custom culture. The goal was to build a modular, transformable machine that almost looks like a mutant disguised as a motorcycle. Powered by our 650 twin platform, the Shotgun 650 is fun to ride on both straights and corners. It's our attempt to introduce enthusiasts to niche and newer motorcycle categories."

The Motoverse edition of the Shotgun 650 is inspired by motorcycles of the future. Its hand-painted shell features an ornate gradient and neon details that no factory can make. Each of the 25 motorcycles has been handcrafted over months to differentiate itself from all the Royal Enfield models and motorcycles on the road.

Commenting on the bike's inspiration and design, Mark Wells, Chief of Design at Royal Enfield, said:
"The development of the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition has been an exciting journey into the future of Royal Enfield for the design team. The presentation of the SG650 Concept at EICMA 2021 aroused so much interest among international customizers that we decided to build it as a production motorcycle. The Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition was built by the same team that designed the concept, so it's very close to the original concept – closer than it usually is. It retains the cast aluminum trim, cropped fenders, angular shape, and confident, aggressive stance. The heart of the motorcycle is the simple shape and the metal composition, which testifies to the custom culture. The Shotgun 650 offers the perfect canvas for both experienced customizers and beginners."

The Shotgun 650 continues Royal Enfield's legacy in customizing. It allows motorcyclists to make a statement without sacrificing the benefits of Royal Enfield customer service. The Shotgun 650 was designed as a neo-retro roadster to break free from historical constraints while preserving the brand's core DNA. The motorcycle combines tradition and progress, with precision-crafted aluminum parts combining classic aesthetics with modern graphics. With its modular design, the Shotgun 650 can be transformed from a single-seater to a two-seater or weekend tourer in a matter of minutes. The taut proportions and low silhouette allow for superior handling with optimal ergonomics.

The tank is strongly based on that of the SG650 concept. It represents a new direction while respecting Royal Enfield's historic shapes, as well as the ten-spoke rims with integrated ABS. The front suspension consists of an upside-down fork and an integrated aluminum topjoke with an extra-wide, low-set handlebar. At the rear, two shocks are mounted to the frame loop, with a hand-stitched black leather solo seat that showcases contemporary craftsmanship. The Shotgun 650 is based on the rugged 650 platform, which is known for its performance and adaptability. The engine is a 650cc twin with new, gloss black engine covers. It's paired with a bespoke exhaust system, referencing the joy of a sound experience that has long been Royal Enfield's hallmark. The motorcycle comes with genuine Royal Enfield accessories such as bar-end mirrors and black LED turn signals. The vehicle is offered in a limited edition with an extended warranty.

The limited edition Shotgun 650 Motoverse embodies originality and self-realization. It allows owners to become part of the brand story. The permanently available production motorcycle will be launched worldwide at the beginning of next year, initially in Europe and India.
