Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd., commented on the launch: "Few brands can look back on such a heritage and history as Royal Enfield did in the last century, and there was simply no better way to celebrate this milestone than to share it with our customers around the world. We are excited to introduce the 120th Anniversary Edition 650 twin motorcycles to enthusiasts around the world and share the brand's heritage with them. Both the Interceptor and Continental GT are hugely successful around the world today, as they were in the 1960s, representing our legacy of building simple bikes where fun is paramount."

The globally proven 650cc twin motorcycles - the Interceptor and the Continental GT - have been very well received by motorcycle enthusiasts around the globe and have also won numerous coveted international awards. Inspired by the iconic Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 and Continental GT 250 from the 1960s, these motorcycles have been instrumental in the brand's global expansion and success in recent years. The importance and relevance of the Interceptor INT and Continental GT 650, both in Royal Enfield's glorious past and modern history, made them the obvious choice for the anniversary models.

Given the milestone and exclusivity, the 120th Anniversary Edition of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 was designed and handcrafted by the company's teams in the UK and India. The tank's unique, sumptuous black and chrome colour scheme was developed using Royal Enfield's industry-leading chrome plating technology at the company's original 1950s factory in the Indian town of Thiruvottiyur in the state of Chennai. Complementing the black chrome-plated tanks, both the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 will feature fully blackened components for the first time, with the engine, silencers and other elements in a series of black color schemes. The bikes will also be equipped with various original motorcycle accessories, including windscreens, engine guards, heel guards, touring and handlebar end mirrors, all as blackened variants to complete the overall design.

In celebration of the brand's DNA and signature craftsmanship, the 120th Year Anniversary Edition motorcycles feature a unique, handcrafted die-cast brass tank emblem. These noble brass emblems were developed together with the "Sirpi Senthil" family, who have been artisans in the temple town of Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu, India, for several generations. These artisans have specialized in making fine brass figures for India's most revered temples for centuries, working with a vehicle brand for the first time.

In memory of the brand's legacy of building passionate handcrafted motorcycles, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 will also feature the iconic hand-painted Royal Enfield pinstripe in the 120th Year Anniversary Edition.

To further enhance the exclusivity of each motorcycle, the fuel cap will feature each motorcycle's unique serial number, indicating that it is one of 60 unique motorcycles in one of the four regions of the world mentioned. In addition, the motorcycles are provided with a sticker on the side fairing, which is a special ode to the 120 years of Royal Enfield.
The 120 copies of the Limited Edition will be available on the European market in the first quarter of 2022. The prices and the marketing channel will be announced in the new year.
