A patent application gets the rumour kitchen going

A recently filed patent application by BMW for a hybrid-powered motorcycle is causing a stir. The Eletrko motor described in the patent specification is docked to the crankshaft via a platenet gearbox. In this way, the electric motor could not only provide additional propulsion, but also perform other tasks, such as.B. as a starter and as a generator. Whether BMW is actually planning a hybrid GS, however, has to be strongly questioned. Patents are often filed and then happen nothing. In addition, the question arises, of course, whether a pure E-GS would not make more sense.
