Indian sets wheelie record
Photo: Indian Indian Motorcycle recently officially participated in the Wheelie World Championship. Result: Veteran American rider Cecil 'Bubba' Myers set two speed records on the debut of the Indian FTR1200 in the UK.
Bubba's FTR 1200S was a production machine. The competition brought a colourful mix of machines to the start, including turbocharged machines with a speed of more than 300 km/h. In Bubba's production machine, however, only the rear license plate holder was removed.
Bubba achieved his fastest 1 Mile Wheelie at 211 km/h on the FTR1200S before setting two speed records inthe UK and setting a speed of234 km/h on the rear wheel, the 'Flying Start 1/4 Mile' record and also 234 km/h to secure the 'Start Standing Mile' record - both in the Series V-Twin class up to 1350 cubic metres.
