Larger engines, new technology and aggressive styling are among the highlights of the Indian Motorcycle Thunder Stroke Lineup 2020

Indian Motorcycle, America's first motorcycle manufacturer, today announced its 2020 Thunder Stroke lineup, which features a host of new features and benefits. With the Thunder Stroke 116 (1,901 cc) engine, now standard in selected models, a completely redesigned Ride Command System, the introduction of the aggressively styled Roadmaster Dark Horse and the re-designed Springfield Dark Horse, the Indian Motorcycle Thunder Stroke Lineup 2020 is bigger, stronger and better than ever.

"The majority of these new features and upgrades are the result of our consistent communication with bikers. We take their feedback seriously and include it wherever possible in our ongoing product development," said Reid Wilson, vice president for Indian Motorcycle. "Today's motorcyclist wants more performance and expects cutting-edge technology, packaged in a modern look that is robust and aggressive. That's exactly what we're delivering in 2020."

For the first time in the company's history, Indian Motorcycle is offering the Thunder Stroke engine in a 1,901 cc (116 cubic-inch) variant. The new air-cooled V-Twin engine has a new cylinder head with high flow at the factory and delivers first-class performance with 168 Nm (126 ft-lbs) of torque. The Thunder Stroke 116 is now standard in most of the Indian Motorcycle lineup, including Springfield Dark Horse, Chieftain, Chieftain Dark Horse, Chieftain Limited, Chieftain Elite, Roadmaster and Roadmaster Dark Horse.

For 2020, Indian Motorcycle Ride Command introduces Connected Services , a completely redesigned version of its industry-leading infotainment system. What remains is the 7-inch screen, as well as the usability of the touchscreen, even with gloves. New is the quad-core processor, which provides the fastest infotainment experience on the market. The new features include taking into account traffic and weather information so that drivers can plan their journey to avoid heavy traffic and bad weather conditions.

In addition, Ride Command offers Google-like, predictive target search capabilities and customizable driving screens. Indian Motorcycle's Ride Command is the largest, fastest and most adaptable infotainment system in the motorcycle industry.

Roadmaster Dark Horse

The Roadmaster Dark Horse is a modern and aggressive variant of the premium touring motorcycle Roadmaster. With blackened surfaces and just enough chrome to stand out from the rest of the 2020 lineup, the Roadmaster Dark Horse features a streamlined panel, deep-seated saddlebags, a 19-inch front wheel with open fender, an "extended reach" rogue gunfighter saddle for large riders, a blackened engine and a matte color scheme. The Thunder Stroke 116 engine drives this travel machine, numerous first-class travel amenities are already standard on board, including a rear case, lower panels, heated handles and an adjustable windshield.

Springfield Dark Horse

Following the extremely positive feedback on the "Limited Edition Indian Springfield Dark Horse", which was presented at Daytona Bike Week in March, Indian Motorcycle now offers a similar design package for the 2020 Springfield Dark Horse. While the Thunder Stroke 116 engine delivers unrivalled performance, the bike with deep-seated saddlebags, Rogue Gunfighter saddle, 12-inch mini-ape handlebars and high-quality, blackened surfaces gains an enormous amount of attitude.

Chieftain Elite

As with previous editions, the Chieftain Elite is a top-class excavator that combines style, technology and performance. For the first time in the history of the Chieftain Elite, the Ultra Premium Excavator will showcase The Modern and Aggressive Body Styling of Indian Motorcycle, including streamlined cladding and deep-seated saddlebags. The 2020 Chieftain Elite is standard with the new Thunder Stroke 116 engine and the powerful PowerBand Audio Plus system with integrated cladding and saddlebag speakers. PowerBand Audio produces a crystal clear sound that is 50% louder than Indian Motorcycle's standard audio system. The premium styling of the 2020 Chieftain Elite is rounded off by the two-tone "Thunder Black Vivid Crystal over Wildfire Candy" livery with matching engine highlights and badging, Precision Machined Elite wheels, Pinnacle mirrors, Select Rider footboards and a flare windshield.

In addition, the complete 2020 Thunder Stroke lineup offers additional updates.

The Chief Dark Horse and Chief Vintage will share the same chassis as the Springfield and Springfield Dark Horse in the future. The result is improved handling and an adjustable rear suspension for both Chief models.
Springfield and Chief Dark Horse will be equipped with a 17-inch front wheel as standard from 2020 for greater stability.
The Roadmaster will lose weight in 2020 and features a redesigned rear case carrier.
