BMW makes the R nineT models fit for Euro 5

Euro 5 revision brings better equipment

BMW R nineT Euro 5
Many BMW retro fans had already worried: Will the R nineT series take the Euro 5 hurdle? After all, BMW's retro bike also uses the air/oil-cooled old boxer. Now the warning: Yes, the R nineTs will continue to exist. And because BMW had to run anyway, the equipment was screwed up in Munich.

BMW's first R nineT was launched back in 2013 - and hit like a bomb! A wonderfully reduced roadster with the good, old air/oil-cooled boxer engine with 110 hp and 116 Nm torque. And all this at the time when retro machines really got going.

This has not changed to this day and retro bikes are still enjoying increasing popularity. That's why it's no wonder BMW is hoisting the old boxer over the Euro 5 hurdle. It now produces 109 hp at 7,250 revolutions and 116 Nm at 6,000 tours. The boxer has been given new cylinder heads and a new "turbulence system" that is said to have improved combustion while ensuring a more even torque curve.

More important to us is the improved equipment. Led light, curve ABS as well as the two driving modes Rain and Road are now available as standard. The new strut is now comfortably adjustable by handwheel and also has the new away-dependent damping (WAD). Also not unimportant: A USB jack zm charging the smartphone is now also available.

Optionally, the R nineT can now also be upgraded with the following options: Driving mode Pro incl. driving modes "Dyna" or "Dirt" depending on the model, dynamic traction control, motor drag torque control, cruise control, heating handles, curved light as well as various rear silencers and of course lots of special colours - see picture gallery above.
