209,257 BMW motorcycles and scooters delivered to customers worldwide.

With 209,257 motorcycles and scooters handed over to customers, an increase of 3.1% compared to the previous year, BMW Motorrad achieved the strongest sales result in the company's history in the year of its 100th anniversary.

The regions of Europe, Asia and Latin America in particular played a major role in BMW Motorrad's sales record, with their respective best-selling figures. Germany and North America also made an important contribution to the record result with strong sales performance. Strong arguments for the successful performance in 2023 were the convincing product portfolio with successful offerings that shaped their respective segments, as well as the market launch of sought-after new models such as the powerful BMW M 1000 R or the touring enduro icon BMW R 1300 GS.

Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad: "I would like to express my sincere thanks to our customers all over the world for the great trust they have placed in us again in 2023. With the record result in our anniversary year 2023, BMW Motorrad maintains its 1st place in the global premium motorcycle and scooter segment and once again demonstrates the successful strategic direction of the brand. Our market leadership in numerous segments is based on our innovation leadership, our highly attractive product range and the strength of our brand. On the basis of these three guarantors of success, BMW Motorrad is in an excellent position and so I am very confident about 2024."

Solid sales in Europe with record growth in Eastern Europe.
With 116,012 (+4.7%) motorcycles and scooters sold, Europe as a whole was by far the strongest sales region for BMW Motorrad. Germany remained the strongest single market with 24,176 units (+0.2%), followed by France (21,668 units / +2.1%), Italy (16,179 units / +3.3%) and Spain (12,716 units / +1.7%). Eastern Europe, among others, also contributed to the very pleasing overall European result for BMW Motorrad with 6,000 vehicles, which corresponds to a record increase of 105.4% and thus more than double the previous year.

China, India, Brazil and Mexico played a major role in the company's success.
In other regions, several countries were once again able to close 2023 with a record year. In Asia (47,061 p.a. / +1.6%), both China (15,832 p.a. / +2.8%) and India (8,768 p.a. / +20.4%) achieved their best results to date. Brazil also made a significant contribution to BMW Motorrad's record result, with record sales of 14,106 vehicles (+8.1%) and Mexico (7,088 units, +6.8%).

R 1250 GS and GS Adventure together with the highly successful launch of the new R 1300 GS at the top.
The boxer models R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure also performed as strong as usual, with a total of around 56,000 units. Supplemented by the new R 1300 GS (4,528 units), which has been on sale since autumn 2023, the three GS models once again made a significant contribution to BMW Motorrad's record result, with a total of 60,535 vehicles delivered (+1.62%).

Sporty four-cylinder models with unbroken dynamism.
The fascination with performance and driving dynamics also led to a positive sales trend for BMW Motorrad's sporty four-cylinder models. With 11,442 units sold (+13.9%), the S 1000 RR underpinned its leading position and market leadership in the super sports car segment, while the M 1000 R hyper roadster exceeded all expectations with 3,655 units delivered to customers. Together with the S 1000 R, the S 1000 XR and the exclusive M 1000 RR, 25,194 models (+7.5%) were delivered worldwide with the high-performance four-cylinder engines.

Top performance also in the mid-size class and in the BMW Motorrad segment up to 500 cc.
With a total of 62,834 units sold (+3.2%), the F series with two-cylinder engine and the G models with single-cylinder drive also made a significant contribution to BMW Motorrad's record result. Particularly noteworthy is the F 750 GS, which is very popular with entry-level customers, with 11,064 customers (+15.6%) opting for it.

Clear market leadership for the CE 04 and strong performance of BMW Motorrad's Urban Mobility offerings.
With a share of around 70% of the global range of all-electric motorcycles and scooters with more than 11 kW of power, the CE 04 has secured the undisputed market leadership. With 7,177 units delivered, the expressive electric scooter exceeded the previous year's deliveries by 44%. Supplemented by the two successful C 400 GT and C 400 X scooters, BMW Motorrad's Urban Mobility segment achieved a sales volume of 20,460 units, an increase of 17.9% compared to the previous year.

Optimistic outlook for 2024.
Stephan Reiff, Head of Sales and Brand: "The sales record in our anniversary year is both an honour and an obligation. With numerous new, innovative models and products for our customers, we at BMW Motorrad will therefore do everything in our power to build on our previous record year in 2024 and further underpin our leading position in the premium segment. Our new GS models in particular will play an important role here. Our customers and fans can once again look forward to numerous world premieres, highlights, events and emotionally charged offers on the subject of motorcycles this year."
