Ducati prepares for the famous Pikes Peak race. In this year's edition of the mountain race, which will take place on June 30, multiple winner Carlin Dunne will compete with a prototype of the new Ducati Streetfighter V4.

The "Race to the Clouds" fits perfectly into the development process of the new Super-Nakedbike from Borgo Panigale as an extreme test and will confirm the performance of the Streetfighter V4, it is hoped. Traditionally, the Streetfighter V4 is based directly on the sporty Panigale V4, has no cladding, but has a high and wide handlebar. Special aerodynamic elements for the new model have been developed in order to implement the brute peak performance of the 1,103 cm3 Desmosedici Stradale Engine in the Streetfighter in the best possible way.

The prototype will be seen with a "pixelated" adhesive. While the camouflage adhesives used in prototypes serve to hide final lines and proportions, the "pixel optics" developed by the Ducati Design Center and used in the race deliberately emphasize the final shapes. The motorcycle will be presented to the public at EICMA 2019 and will be available on sale from mid-March 2020.
