Rugged rocks, deep valleys, raging rivers and the dreamlike Mediterranean coast form the challenging terrain of the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy from 4 to 10 September 2022 in Albania. The country is still considered a real insider tip for off-road adventures and this year 126 copies of the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition specially built for this event will be available to participating enduro riders from all over the world.
Superior drive power and tailor-made equipment for challenging adventures in the most difficult terrain.
While the BMW F 850 GS was used as a competition vehicle at the last International GS Trophy in 2020, BMW Motorrad is returning to the boxer engine at this year's edition with the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition – and thus to unspoilt, always superior power, beefy torque and maximum tractive power for the sometimes very demanding off-road sections, in which you have to ride predominantly in the lower gears.
In addition to an exclusive two-tone finish in Lightwhite uni / Gravityblue metallic matt in combination with specially designed GS Trophy stickers, the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition enters the seven-day adventure with a whole series of changes made especially for competition. For model year 2023, the R 1250 GS will also be offered in this two-tone finish.
This year's BMW International GS Trophy Competition Bike has, among other things, a robust aluminium enduro engine guard, headlight protection, cylinder head covers that are particularly resistant to damage and a TFT display that is protected against falls and stone chips. The particularly robust enduro footpegs from the R 1250 GS Adventure as well as adjustable shift and foot brake levers are also due to the upcoming tough off-road use. For the best possible grip on difficult terrain, coarse Metzeler Karoo 4 tires are mounted on the cross-spoke wheels, which replace the standard Karoo 3 tires. Sport windscreen, rally seat and Akrapovic rear muffler round off the equipment of the competition car.
Tank bag Adventure Collection Small as a practical companion during long strenuous driving days.
With the 5 litre small tank bag from the new Adventure Bag Collection, the International GS Trophy participants finally have a practical accommodation option for all kinds of utensils and some food on the go. Thanks to tie straps, it is used as a rear bag in the R 1250 GS Trophy Competition. A waterproof inner bag, water-repellent and lockable two-way zippers on the main compartment, a zippered lid pocket and a cable outlet for a charging cable inside are other useful details of the tank bag Adventure Collection Klein.
